in this program will learn basic, and spa manicures and pedicures;
Students will also develop an awareness of personal and public
hygiene, and sanitation practices in the salon environment. |

Head Instructor of Del Rio Academy of Hair and Esthetics Ltd. |

Standard Nail Technician Text book and workbook.

kit, Pedicure implement kit (list will be provided, to be purchased
from beauty supplier)

Method: |
The program
is delivered in the class room and salon The first 1.5 hours
in the morning are for classroom theory time both with and instructor
and independently on assignments. The students then spend the
remainder of the day, aside from lunch time and breaks, working
on each other or clients in the salon while supervised by the
instructor; according to the ability of the student. Instructor:
Student ratio, 1 instructor/ 6 students

Obejective: |
This
Course is designed as an introduction to nail services, focusing
on manicures and pedicures, client services and care, procedures
and techniques, supplies, and equipment related to the manicure and
pedicure service. The
skills obtained during this certificate program allow anyone
in the beauty industry to obtain extra income generating services.
Upon successful completion of this program, students will have the ability
to offer manicure and pedicure services in the spa, salon
or even at home.
This course is a prerequisite to the Artificial Nail Technology course offered
through Del Rio Academy of Hair and Esthetics Ltd. |

Assessments:
Upon completion of this course the successful student will have reliably demonstrated
the ability for:
Practical
- Basic manicure procedure 45 minutes
- Full (spa) pedicure procedure 60 minutes
Theory & Practical Exams: 75% Passing Grade

Attendance
Expectations: 5
days/ week, 8:30 – 4:30
for the duration of the program for a total of 150 hours.
| Dress
Expectations: |
White lab coat or spa jacket,
white or black pants, white or black shoes. Hair must be tied
back and head band worn during practical applications and/or
client services. |
