Del Rio Academy of Hair & Esthetics offers professional Hairdressing and Esthetics courses located in a Paul Mitchell concept Salon in the Comox Valley.

I'm so proud of them.” Del Rio Academy students are taught by experienced, qualified instructors. The Academy offers courses in Hairdressing, Esthetics, Manicure/Pedicure and Nail Technology as well as Refresher courses. General upgrading courses for Esthetics and Hairdressing are also available.

At Del Rio Academy we believe that to fully prepare graduates for their careers, students need to train in a physical environment that reflects where they will be working. Fo that reason Del Rio Academy features Salon and Spa service areas where students can apply their practical knowledge on clients while developing their customer service skills. The school salons are supervised by qualified instructors and are structured to ensure that classroom learning is complimented with this practical experience on clients. By simulating a realistic salon environment, we can further enhance the training the student receives and better prepare each graduate for success in his or her career.

In the Courtenay Salon & Day Spa there is room for 13 hair stylists, as well as four nail stations, four pedicure stations and two spa rooms. Salon services include nail enhancements, manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing, makeup, microdermabraision, ear piercing, massage and hot stone massage.

Clients of Del Rio Academy receive services from fully supervised students at a reduced rate. "We use top of the line products because that's what the students will be using in today’s Spas and Salons. It's nice to be able to pamper people who wouldn't be able to afford services otherwise," added Rhonda.
